Join us for a virtual screening of a compilation of the best movies written, acted in, directed and even assistant edited by the Canvas + Clay artists who participate in our Hands On Video Workshop.
The Hands On Video Workshop, lead by Benjamin Johnson, is a unique studio opportunity that we are grateful to be able to offer the artists of Canvas + Clay. In the workshop artists start with a storyboard and learn how to map out their ideas in a series of moving pictures. They then write the script, enlist fellow C+C artists and staff to act, and direct their productions. Artists make their own props, backdrops and costumes together. The artists even encouraged to participate in soundtracking and editing their videos, which are then put onto our YouTube page. The result is a collaboration that shows the value of a team and how a movie can’t be made by just one person.
The compilation of films we will be playing during our fundraiser is a collection of the best of the best, and we will be releasing a special edition playbill featuring quotes, anecdotes and stills of the films. All tickets automatically come with a digital version of the playbill. There are multiple levels of donor package options to enhance your movie viewing experience. Including: popcorn, candy, a physical handbill and original artwork and props made by the artists themselves, BUT there are a limited number of tickets and packages available! All proceeds of the fundraiser will go back into the program via operation and supply costs. As a non-profit 501 (c)(3) your donation is 100% tax deductible. We are a small non-profit and we rely heavily on the support of our community through art sales, donations and fundraisers like this one.
