Today we want to honor C+C artist Gary Cheadle. Cheadle passed away last month and as this is his birthday month and as he loved the winter and holiday seasons we want to pay tribute to him. An avid weather enthusiast, it was not uncommon for staff to find Cheadle in our courtyard during the dry fall and winter days doing a rain dance, lamenting that we needed it. When the forecast called for rain, he would come in to the studio excited and buzzing with energy. He loved the rain and the snow and his artwork reflected this fascination. Gary Cheadle was a Humboldt County native and an accomplished and prolific artist at Canvas + Clay from 1999 until 2020.
