In December of 2024, CANVAS + CLAY GALLERY had to close its doors at the Carson Building location. We have since moved our gallery operations back to The Studio location at 272 C Street. In combining the two programs we now refer to our program as CANVAS AND CLAY STUDIO. Here we provide a supportive and stimulating environment where artists can express themselves. Our exhibition goals now include: providing ample space for portfolio display, increasing professional art practices, and assisting our artists in exhibiting their work out in the local art community.
CANVAS + CLAY STUDIO consists of: a 2D studio for drawing and painting, a 3D studio for ceramics, and a 4D studio that provides space for fiber arts, video, and a variety of fine arts workshops. Our 2D studio now features an abundant selection of our artists’ painting portfolios hung all the way to the ceiling. Our original gallery, known as The Cheri Blackerby Gallery, has been restored and transformed into a Portfolio Gallery. The new portfolio gallery is a sight to behold! It features brand new shelves full of our artists’ delightful ceramic portfolios. New flat files provide archival and easy to access storage for our artists’ works on paper and walls are adorned with framed works of art. Most importantly, all of this art is for sale!
